Zapala is a logistics and rail node in west-central Neuquén. The city sits on the Ferrocarril General Roca line and along Ruta Nacional 22 — the primary east-west corridor through the province. For a regional proppant supplier, Zapala is a natural transload and consolidation point for westward-facing well campaigns and a single-shift truck haul from Malargüe.
Zapala connects Neuquén to Chilean ports through Paso Pino Hachado and anchors the western arm of Neuquén's rail network. The city offers flat industrial land and warehousing capacity suitable for proppant staging. For In-Basin Sand, Zapala is a productive intermediate staging point on the north-south flow from Malargüe to basin operations.
| Origin | Distance to Zapala | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Malargüe (In-Basin Sand) | ~400 km | Single-shift paved truck |
| Ibicuy (Entre Ríos) | ~1,600 km | Multi-modal |
Both +30/+70 and -70/+140 mesh cuts ship under API 19C and ISO 13503-2, SGS Minerals (Chile) validated.
Zapala's rail infrastructure, though currently underused for proppant, represents future optionality. Regional origin sand plus rail transload can further reduce unit freight for large campaign volumes. In-Basin Sand can deliver FCA-plant, DDP-Zapala or hybrid structures.
Spot, blended and take-or-pay supported. Under-NDA data room access available on request.
